CONA Services named Bytes for Bites Statewide Large Company Winner

Bytes for bitesIn July, CONA Services participated in the inaugural Bytes for Bites food and fund drive competition sponsored by the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and Hub Magazine’s Food Technology feature, “Bytes”. Donations raised during the competition benefit the Georgia Food Bank Association. Participating companies engaged in a friendly competition to see who could raise the most donations, in terms of food and dollars, overall and per employee. Each dollar raised counted as four pounds of food. Companies were also eligible for bonus pounds counted towards their totals based on things like early registration and volunteerism at one of their local community food banks.

In the Atlanta area, 23 companies competed and raised $18,789 and 1,548 pounds of food for the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Statewide, over 40 technology and technology enabled companies representing more than 8,000 members of the industry participated in the two week competition that took place from July 11th -22nd. They collectively raised $26,200.68 and 4,098 pounds of food, surpassing the goal of $25,000. This is the equivalent of 90,751 meals that the Food Banks will be able to distribute to families and children struggling with hunger in Georgia. On Tuesday, Aug. 8th, the TAG announced the results and winners. CONA Services was named Large Company Winner – Pounds per Employee! CONA Services raised a grand total of $3,275 providing approximately 13,000 meals to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
